The Mirror

A written exchange for the words that live best on paper.

Some things come out straighter in writing. The Mirror is for people who think with a pen: you write me a letter, as long or as short as you need, and within 48 hours you receive my written response. Focused and careful, centered on the single core of what you shared. One Mirror holds five of these letters and five replies, across a month.

How it works

  1. Open your Mirror below. One Mirror = five letters from you + five responses from me, across one month. $39.
  2. Write your first letter and send it to mirror@unsaid.community. Any length, any topic, in English.
  3. Within 48 hours, my response arrives: witnessing, validation, and questions that serve you. Zero advice, zero diagnosis, zero judgment. Then you write again, at your own pace, up to five times.

Why writing works

A letter gives you distance and control: you choose each word, on your own clock, with nobody watching you search for it. And a response in writing stays. You can return to it in a week, a month, a year, and it will hold.

The Mirror suits those of us who go quiet in live conversation. It suits distant time zones and night shifts. It suits the words that need a closed door and a blank page first.

The rule at the center

Your letter may carry many threads. My response centers on the single core: the one thing underneath, named with care and handed back to you. Depth over coverage.

The Mirror runs in its first season with five seats open at a time. Each seat is a full Mirror: five letters from you, five responses from me, across one month. If the door below is closed, join UNSAID (free) and the weekly letter announces the next opening.

Common questions

How long can my letter be?
As long as it needs to be. A page or ten pages, both are welcome.
What happens after the Mirror ends?
You decide. Each Mirror stands on its own; many people open another, and zero pressure comes from my side.
Why $39?
Five focused responses take unhurried time. Your payment also keeps the free spaces (Circles and free sessions) open for those who have less.
Who reads my letters?
One person: me. Confidentiality holds, with the same three exceptions as everywhere at UNSAID: threat to life, harm to a dependent, court order.

A note on safety. The Mirror is peer support: it works alongside professional care and never replaces it, and it moves at a gentle pace by design. If your letter speaks of harming yourself or someone else, my first reply arrives the moment I read your words, ahead of everything else, and it points with care to professional help: a crisis deserves faster and stronger support than any letter can give. Every response I send ends with crisis resources, for any hour you might need them: unsaid.community/#crisis
