This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies unsaid.community uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

UNSAID uses cookies sparingly. Our website is designed to function with minimal data collection. We use cookies only for essential site functionality and, with your consent, for understanding how visitors interact with our site.
We never use cookies for:
- Advertising or ad targeting
- Selling data to third parties
- Tracking you across other websites
- Building behavioral profiles
3. Types of Cookies We Use
3.1 Essential Cookies (Always Active)
These cookies are required for the website to function properly. They cannot be disabled without breaking core site features. No consent is required for essential cookies under GDPR.

3.2 Analytics Cookies
UNSAID does not currently use any analytics cookies or tracking tools. If we introduce analytics in the future, we will choose a privacy-friendly, cookieless solution (such as Plausible or Fathom) that does not require a consent banner. This policy will be updated accordingly before any analytics tool is activated.
3.3 Third-Party Cookies
Some features on our site involve embedded content from third-party services. These services may set their own cookies on your device. UNSAID has no control over third-party cookies.

One Wall feature deserves a separate note: the “Witness this” counter (provided by Cloudflare) sets zero cookies and stores nothing on your device. It processes your IP address transiently, server-side, solely for abuse prevention, and discards it within about a minute. Details in our Privacy Policy, Section 3.7.
Embedded third-party features (such as the Tally contact form, and the Calendly scheduler if embedded) load only after you accept cookies. If you decline, these embeds stay disabled and you can contact us by email instead.
3.4 Cookies We Never Use
For clarity, UNSAID never uses:
- Advertising cookies
- Retargeting or remarketing cookies
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- Cross-site tracking cookies
- Cookies that build behavioral profiles
4. Cookie Consent
4.1 How consent works
If our site uses any non-essential cookies (analytics or third-party), a cookie consent banner will appear on your first visit. The banner will:
- Clearly identify each category of cookies
- Allow you to accept or reject each category individually
- Never use pre-checked boxes (GDPR requires affirmative consent)
- Allow you to change your preferences at any time
Essential cookies are always active and require no consent.
4.2 Current status
The current version of unsaid.community uses only essential cookies and functional local storage, and runs zero analytics tracking. The Wall form, embedded from Tally, sets zero tracking cookies for respondents by Tally’s default. A full cookie consent banner is therefore unnecessary. A brief notice in the footer confirms: “This site uses only essential cookies. No tracking. No ads.”
5. How to Control Cookies
5.1 Through your browser
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for major browsers:

Please note: disabling essential cookies may affect website functionality (e.g., the site may re-display the cookie banner on every visit).
5.2 Through browser extensions
Privacy-focused browser extensions (such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger) can block third-party cookies automatically. UNSAID’s website is designed to function normally with these extensions enabled.
5.3 Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT)
Modern browsers and extensions can send automated privacy signals: Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT).
UNSAID respects both signals. If your browser sends a GPC or DNT signal, our website will automatically treat it as a refusal of all non-essential cookies and tracking technologies. No further action is required from you.
This is consistent with UNSAID’s privacy-first principles and with the requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which mandates honoring GPC signals.
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we add new features or change our analytics or embedding approach. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. If changes are significant, we will notify active subscribers via email.
